Facebook: 25 Things I Didn't Want to Know About You

So shoot me. I like lists, like I said. Is it narcissism? Is it that stupid? Think about all of those "surveys" that go around on MySpace with questions like

What color are your socks right now?
What does the last text message you received say?
Do you miss someone?
Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex?
Where is the last place you had sex?

Invasive? Yes. Personal? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Have I filled them out? Yes. But I canceled my MySpace account and haven't ventured down that thirty-minute waste of time for months, maybe a year. 25 Random Things? Things can be anything. Some people have been creative--I've read several. All of my "things" are things people who know me well would know. It's just me saying it. It's not a personal confessional. For me, anyway. My brother used it quite differently.

Now, should these facts be spoken and learned face to face? Oh, absolutely. Facebook is ruining face to face friendships. You don't ever have to see each other or talk to one another to be "friends." But it all depends on how you use it. Facebook isn't evil. 25 Random Things isn't evil. Though some do use it for evil. I don't know what I mean when I say evil because I don't believe in "evilness."

I'm in to discovering myself, and part of that is possibly listing things about myself. Now maybe that should be done in private and not shared with twenty-five of my friends, but, like I said, if they are things that anyone who knows me well would know, then what's the harm. So, Time, go ahead and call five million Facebook users stupid.
